My full legal name is Gold. I started NZSitP about 5 months ago and am really keen to get the podcast running too.

I have technical skills using Audacity so could handle the post production. Toby has also offered to handle this using the resources he has through his workplace.

I also wouldn't mind being a talking head but that's not important. I'm more interested in getting it up and running than anything else.

My eyesight's spectacularly crap due to a series of retinal detachments, but I can still manage to use Photoshop albeit slowly. The kind of stuff I'm used to doing is game graphics and a wee bit of programming in Delphi 5.

I'm Josh, people also call me Slosh.

Uhh.. I have grade 7 in classical guitar, flute, piano and musical theory (although this is like as of over a decade ago so don't ask me to play at such a level now :P) and although I could probably do music of some sort I'm sure there are others with a far better working knowledge. I have a BSc in computer science and math, a MSc in math (specifically phylogenetics) and am currently doing a research project in stats (creating a statistical model for kidney shapes). I have a fair working knowledge of linguistics and am also a big fan of FLOSS. I have no idea how I could fit in but hope that someone will read this and eventually think 'hey, we need this thing done and that guy who posted all that useless stuff can do it!'. You never know right?

Hi, my real name is Colm, I have a BSc in marine/environmental biology, and a MSc in Molecular Biology and I am currently working as a Research Associate in an Auckland based lab.

I have an active interest in all aspects of science and debunking pseudoscience, particularly creationists/anti evolutionists, medical quackery, and psychic con artists.

I am a big advocate for communicating science to the layman, and would be particularly interested in researching/interviewing scientists or science communicators. Like Gold I would not mind being a talking head, but this is not my end goal.

I am currently trying to get a spot on a local radio station to push the message of skepticism and critical thinking, and I am really keen to help get this podcast off the ground.

I'm also known Siouxsie Wiles, a research fellow recently arrived at Auckland Uni from Imperial College London. I have a degree in infectious diseases and a PhD in molecular microbiology. I do research in infectious diseases (basically I make bacteria glow in the dark and then track them inside mice using a fancy camera).

I am interested in getting the public more involved in science and to get them thinking more critically of science stories in the media but am essentially a virgin to all this podcasting stuff. I've done some speaking to school kids about the use of animals in research but that's about it.

Happy to be involved however I'm needed!
