Crowd funding science!

Hey everyone

This month I am taking part in the SciFund Challenge, which gives scientists the whole of May to raise money for science using crowdfunding. The challenge came about partly as a result of the lack of funding for basic science, as well as an effort to get the public interested and involved in science.

Basically a group of scientists from around the world are seeking small donations in return for ‘rewards’ (in my case these are things like having your name written in glowing bacteria or having one of my bacteria named after you!). My project is about using my glowing bacteria to study the evolution of infectious diseases.

So if you fancy seeing your name in lights, check out my project, Evolution in Action, on the RocketHub site: http://www.rockethub.com/projects/7491-evolution-in-action.

Please help spread the word!

Thanks
