Christchurch Paranormal Investigators
The Press has an article on page 3 of todays print edition that may be of interest to some here. My initial impression wasn't positive but then I beat my gut reaction into submission and thought that these guys should be given the benefit of the doubt. Not all paranormal investigators are as credulous as the stuff that makes it onto television... :)
The article, Christchurch - it's a spooky old town, covers the guys that did the investigation at the Jailhouse Hostle in Addington, Christchurch. I've added a comment to the article at The Press inviting them to join SitP here in Christchurch. Hopefully they'll come along. I've also offered, tentatively, to set them up with a website.
If they are serious about the investigation I'd love to have them join us. As far as I'm aware we don't have a subsection of the group that focuses on the paranormal.
Just thinking about it, given that these guys have also had a number of investigations already it may be worth inviting them along to give a talk.

They sound similar to James
They sound similar to James Gilberd and the "Strange Occurrences" presentation at the 2009 conference, the idea was investigation and not confirmation. If they are taking that approach, that would fit pretty well as do areas like anomalistic psychology where they investigate areas like paranormal beliefs and why people think as they do.
I've been in touch with them
I've been in touch with them through e-mail. Hopefully some of them will be at the Christchurch Meetup tonight.
Paranormal???
I get the feeling you are a man of many hats , for this you seem to be wearing your build a social group hat on , compared to last night when you seemed to have a main stream science hat on .
There doesn't seem to be much common ground here?
Could you explain the science behind paranormal investigations , you know the science that is accepted by most scientists...
I get the feeling you are a
I'm not sure of the point you're trying to make. This forum, and the gathering the other night are two totally different environments. Of course I'm going to act differently in both. I'm not getting your point with the reference to common ground though. Does there have to be any?
No. That's why I'd like these guys to come along.
I'm sure it would be fun
I'm just surprised you managed to overide your gut instinct and give it a second thought.
I would probably find the subject a bit irrational.
I don't believe in ghosts or life after death , so there would be an awful lot of claims I would find unbelievable .
Do you think it's possible to have life after death???
