Good for a laugh

Who would have thought that a married couple had sex? It appears that the catholic church do not like the idea of portraying Mary as a wife and mother, and would rather keep the myth of her virginity alive and well.

This billboard in Auckland was defaced after only four hours.

I personally can't understand what is so offensive about it in the first place, though according to the idiots at family first it is wrong to portray Mary and Joseph in this manner as children may see it!! May see what exactly? I'm married and my kids see me in my bed with my wife on a regular basis, they have even slept in my bed with us! The billboard is not pornographic and has a semi comical but quite obtuse statement with it. I'm pretty sure most children would have little or no idea what the intended message was.

I also like the Arch Deacons statements here, http://tvnz.co.nz/national-news/controversial-billboard-defaced-3313207

We actually think God is about the power of love as shown in Jesus, which is something quite different than a literal man up in the sky," says Archdeacon Glynn Cardy.

he believes God is "more like a force but not a being in any sense".

So god is more like the Midi-chlorians than the traditional white bearded creator? Or is the church finally realising that it is the various strong and weak forces that actually created the universe, the earth, and ultimately us?

Maybe these guys will start praying to gravity or electromagnetism soon.

Then Archdeacon Cardy

Then Archdeacon Cardy launches right back into the literal man in the sky, complete with divine sperm no less.... "Is it about a spiritual male God sending down sperm so a child would be born, or is it about the power of love in our midst as seen in Jesus?" he said." PMSL when I read that.
